ABOUT OUR COFFEE
HOW IS CAFÉ BRITT DIFFERENT FROM THE COFFEE YOU FIND IN YOUR LOCAL STORE?
Unlike most coffees sold commercially in non-coffee producing countries, Café Britt's coffee is grown, roasted and packaged in its country of origin. This offers our customers the freshest coffee available.
This way there is also a stronger relationship with the producers. At Café Britt, the farmers are personally known and work closely with them to ensure environmental sustainability. They combine generations of knowledge with the ideal blend of high altitude, volcanic soil and climate to grow the finest coffee cherries.
Café Britt is an experienced roaster with over 30 years of experience. They roast our coffees slowly and in small batches for perfect results. We don't add any additives and don't need them to improve the taste.
At Café Britt we can follow and participate in every step of coffee production. We invite you to experience the difference for yourself!
HOW MUCH CAFFEINE DO YOUR PRODUCTS HAVE?
Caffeine is a natural component of coffee beans. A regular 8-ounce cup of brewed coffee can contain between 65 and 121 mg of caffeine.
Even decaffeinated coffee is not fully decaffeinated. (This applies to all commercial decaf coffees, not just Café Britt.) Coffee that has been decaf is 99.9% decaffeinated, which means an 8-ounce cup of brewed decaffeinated coffee is about 0.03% Contains caffeine (0.2 to 0.4 mg).
Because our coffee-based candies contain real coffee, they also contain some caffeine. Each 5g of our chocolate covered coffee beans contains approximately 0.89mg of caffeine.
DO YOU OFFER KOSHER PRODUCTS?
Yes. All of our Costa Rican coffees are Kosher certified.
WHY ARE CAFÉ BRITT CHOCOLATES SO HEAT SENSITIVE?
Since our chocolates are natural products without preservatives, they are very sensitive to heat. We take every precaution to ship them so that they get to you in perfect condition. Café Britt chocolates are best stored between 64° and 72°F (18° and 22°C). If for any reason your chocolates have arrived melted, please contact us immediately at apfleger@arabicashop.de.
WHAT IS THE VALVE ON YOUR COFFEE PACKAGES FOR?
The packaging we use for Café Britt coffees is a durable three-layer material that protects the coffee from sunlight and oxygen. Each bag has a one-way valve that allows gases generated during roasting to escape and prevents air or oxygen from entering the bag.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY COFFEE?
For both ground and whole bean coffee, we recommend storing the bags in a cool and dark place, e.g. B. in a pantry, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Never remove the coffee from the bag to pour it into a container. Our pouches are designed to keep the coffee fresh thanks to the one-way valve.
WHAT IS THE NUMBER ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG?
Each bag of Café Britt coffee contains a unique batch ID number that tells us the exact date and time the coffee was roasted, the temperature at which it was roasted and the batch or coffee farm it came from. As you can see, we can trace every bag back to the plantation.
WHAT IS STRICTLY HARD BEAN OR SHB?
Strictly Hard Bean is part of a classification system for Costa Rican coffees grown at over 1200 meters (4000 feet) above sea level. In Costa Rica, coffee trees growing at this altitude produce higher quality beans that are dense and retain their nutrients and flavor throughout the roasting process.
WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE OF CAFÉ BRITT COFFEE?
An unopened bag stays fresh for a year. A bag of coffee, once opened, stays fresh for up to six months if stored correctly. Keeping your coffee in its original packaging, tightly closed and in a cool and dry place is always a good coffee storage method.
